Amber hails from Sunrise, Fl where she is a mom of 2, wife, Army veteran, and a Sports Massage Therapist. A late comer to the CrossFit scene and mostly self taught, her determination and hard work ethic she gained from 17 years in the Army has propelled her in her training and desire to compete on a team like the Lions.
While CrossFit is her passion, running is what initially got her into fitness. Through running, she managed to lose 100lbs and has kept it off with CrossFit. CrossFit became her outlet for learning to love her body and gain a better relationship with food. She loves taking her fitness outside of the gym as well. She and her family enjoy spearfishing, freediving, camping, boating, 4 wheeling, shooting and more.
Amber Bost stands out in the Grid League not just for her athletic achievements, but for her remarkable journey from military service to competitive fitness. As Utility Player #43 for the South Beach Palms, she brings a unique blend of discipline, determination, and versatility to the sport.
Amber recently joined the South Beach Palms after playing for the Fort Lauderdale Lions. During her time with the Lions, she contributed to their 2018 Championship victory and other tournament wins. While a calf injury sidelined her for part of a season with the Lions, she fought her way back to competition, demonstrating the resilience that defines her athletic career.
What makes Amber’s athletic journey particularly interesting is that she came to competitive fitness later in life. She describes herself as “a late comer to the CrossFit scene and mostly self taught,” using the work ethic she developed in the military to drive her training forward.
Her CrossFit career spans from 2014 to present, with multiple CrossFit Opens under her belt. She reached her highest worldwide ranking of 1328th in the women’s division in 2023 and has consistently qualified for Age Group Quarterfinals from 2021 through 2024. Her strength numbers speak for themselves: a 275-pound back squat, 205-pound clean and jerk, 315-pound deadlift, and 175-pound snatch.
Before finding CrossFit, Amber discovered fitness through running. She lost 100 pounds through running and has maintained her health through CrossFit training. She continues to participate in numerous Ragnar races and half marathons across the country.
Beyond structured competition, Amber pursues various outdoor athletic activities. She’s an accomplished freediver with a 3-minute breath hold, enjoys spearfishing, and regularly goes camping, boating, and 4-wheeling.
