As an avid CrossFit and strongman competitor, I strive to become as strong as possible to show my daughter that strong women are powerful! I began CrossFit in 2018 after chasing my goals of winning two 100-mile ultra marathons. I shifted gears to become fit in the CrossFit space. In 2024, I began my Strongman career and quickly made it onto four national stages during my first year of competing. I plan to earn my pro strongman card in 2026 while chasing my newest goals of crushing it on the United Grid League Floor!
Ashleigh Morris ran 100 miles. Then she ran 100 miles again. The ultra marathoner from Gulfport, Mississippi, who logged two victories across the unforgiving terrain of endurance running, decided in 2018 that she wanted to find out what her body could do in a different arena. CrossFit called. She answered. What happened next was inevitable: a woman who had already learned how to endure the unbearable wasn’t about to stop pushing boundaries. In 2024, Morris stepped onto her first Strongman stage. By the end of that year, she had reached four national competitions and earned the trajectory that points toward a professional strongman card in 2026.
Now, as a Strength Specialist for the New York Wolves in the United Grid League, Morris carries a simple mission. She wants her daughter to see what a powerful woman looks like. Standing 5’3″ and carrying 170 pounds of muscle, she is the answer to that question, a physical manifestation of what happens when someone refuses to accept limits. The Instagram handle @muscle_mama_89 tells you everything you need to know about who she is and what she represents.
Morris arrived at the Grid after a career arc that few athletes can claim. She mastered human endurance, then pivoted to strength sports with the same ferocity that got her across those 100-mile courses. A CrossFit Games athlete profile sits in her archives. The Strongman stages know her name. This is not an athlete still figuring out her sport. This is an athlete who knows exactly what she wants and has spent her entire athletic life proving she can achieve it. The New York Wolves have a Strength Specialist who understands, at a cellular level, what it means to refuse to quit.
