From Combat Boots to Championship Belt: Brandon Ferraro Brings 13 Years of Soldier’s Discipline to the New York Wolves

At 5’9″ and 240 pounds of calculated muscle, Brandon Ferraro doesn’t look like he came from the combat zone, he looks like he came from one the minute he left it. Thirteen years in the US Army shaped not just his body but his approach to competition. The strength specialist now wears the New York Wolves jersey with the same precision he brought to active duty, having made the jump from powerlifting to Strongman in 2022. His Instagram followers watch him lift impossibly heavy objects in a Queens gym, but what they’re really seeing is a man who spent over a decade understanding what it means to perform under pressure.

Born and raised in Queens, Ferraro brings a specific mentality to Selden and the New York Wolves. He’s competed across CrossFit, powerlifting, and Strongman, three disciplines that demand different things from the same body. The transition to Strongman four years ago proved he could adapt, could learn, could dominate in unfamiliar terrain. On the Grid, that adaptability might be his greatest asset. He knows what it takes to win a ringer race, and he knows what it takes to push a team across a finish line.

Ferraro’s real fuel comes from smaller moments. He’s a husband and father, and his son motivates him daily to set the standard that matters, not just in strength, but in character. That mentality doesn’t stay in the gym. When the New York Wolves championship run begins, Brandon Ferraro will be exactly what they need: a man who has already proven he can build something meaningful under the heaviest conditions.
