High Schooler With Semifinals Pedigree Brings Bodyweight Prowess to the Grid

At 17, Libby Schoepf has already done what most competitive CrossFitters never will: qualify for the CrossFit Age Group Semifinals twice. The New York Wolves’ newest bodyweight specialist did it again in 2025, placing 108th worldwide in the Girls 16-17 division, a feat she accomplished while juggling junior year at high school in Vienna, Virginia. Most athletes her age are still figuring out who they are. Schoepf has already figured out how to compete against thousands of them.

Her rise in CrossFit is shorter than her gymnastics résumé, which stretches back seven years. She made the switch to CrossFit in 2022, trading the beam and bars for barbells and rowing machines. That gymnastic foundation shows in everything she does, the body control, the efficiency, the comfort in the air. She’s trained at CrossFit Mill Street in Vienna, where she also coaches gymnastics and volunteers at the local firehouse. She’s competed at WZA (Wodapalooza), one of the sport’s marquee invitational competitions. Now, as a rookie in the United Grid League, she’ll test herself against professional athletes for the first time.

At 5’3″ and 130 pounds, Schoepf arrives in New York with the kind of resume that suggests she’s only getting started. High schoolers don’t typically belong in a professional league. She does.
