I’m Isabella “Bella” Carvalho, a 20-year-old athlete and coach with a passion for movement, competition, and helping others discover what they’re capable of achieving. As the youngest of three siblings, with a sister 13 years older and a brother 9 years older, I grew up constantly trying to keep up with my role models. Their influence sparked my love for sports early on and helped shape the discipline, resilience, and strong work ethic I carry today.
I developed a well-rounded athletic background, playing competitive volleyball as an outside hitter, despite not being the tallest on the court, and traveling across the state for softball, where I played my primary position at second base. I later began competing in CrossFit at a young age, discovering a passion for performance training and the challenge of continually pushing my limits.
Alongside athletics, I prioritized academics, graduating with a 4.0 GPA from Liberty University Online Academy. I went on to earn my CPT NASM certification, along side with others furthering my mission to empower others through fitness. I believe training is about more than physical results, it’s about building confidence, overcoming challenges, and creating lasting lifestyle change.
Today, I serve as a trainer at Burn CLW, where I lead high-energy sessions, provide intentional coaching, and support members as they work toward goals both inside and outside the gym. I also work with MOVE, continuing to expand my experience.
Outside of my day to day life , I enjoy spending time with family, especially my grandparents, cooking together, running, and cycling, which help me stay balanced and connected to the people who have supported my journey from the beginning.
At just 19 years old, Isabella “Bella” Carvalho has quickly made her mark as a Utility Player for the Tampa Bay Brigade in the United Grid League. Wearing #07, she’s already proven herself as a formidable competitor, ranking fourth in team performance during the 2024-2025 season’s Rope Swing match format. Her rapid success as a rookie suggests she’s only beginning to tap into her potential.
Growing up influenced by two much older siblings, Bella developed a natural competitive spirit that drove her athletic pursuits. Her brother, nine years her senior, inspired her early sports journey, which included competitive volleyball and travel softball where she played second base. This diverse athletic foundation helped shape her into the versatile competitor she is today. Her dedication to fitness led her to earn her NASM certification, deepening her understanding of athletic performance and training principles.
Despite her intense focus on athletics, Bella maintained perfect academic standards, achieving a 4.0 GPA at Liberty University Online Academy. Standing 5’1″, she playfully describes herself as “Just a shorty” with “All muscle Baby”, an accurate reflection of her powerful but compact athletic build that serves her well in Grid League competition.
Outside the Grid League, Bella works as a trainer at Burn Boot Camp in Westchase, Florida, where she’s the youngest instructor on staff. She leads morning workout classes and brings the same energy to her training sessions that she displays in competition. Her training philosophy centers on the belief that fitness can transform lives, a message she delivers both through her coaching and her own athletic example.
Between training and competing, Bella maintains a well-rounded life that includes playing guitar, golfing, and cooking with her family. These interests help ground her and provide balance to the intense physical demands of her athletic career. Her ability to connect with both her training clients and teammates showcases her natural leadership qualities, particularly impressive given her young age.
As a Utility Player, Bella’s versatility is her greatest asset. Her background in multiple sports allows her to adapt quickly to different challenges within Grid League competition. Her compact frame combined with impressive strength makes her particularly effective in events requiring both power and agility, like the Rope Swing where she’s already distinguished herself.
The Tampa Bay Brigade has found a rising star in Bella Carvalho. Her combination of youth, athletic versatility, and professional dedication suggests a bright future in the Grid League. As she continues to develop her skills and gain experience, she’s positioned to become an increasingly influential figure in the sport.
Beyond her athletic achievements, Bella’s impact extends into her local fitness community. As both a Grid League competitor and fitness trainer, she serves as an inspiring example for young athletes, particularly those who might not fit the traditional mold of their chosen sport. Her success shows that determination and versatility can overcome any perceived limitations.
