Kelsey Kiel

Transition to CrossFit

In 2014, Kelsey’s sister, Teresa, introduced her to CrossFit. Initially, it served as a general fitness regimen, but by late 2015, after winning an individual competition, Kelsey recognized her potential in the sport. This realization marked the beginning of her dedicated CrossFit career. ​

Competitive Achievements

• 2016: Kelsey joined CrossFit Parallax, leading to a second-place finish at the East Regional and a 19th-place team finish at the Reebok CrossFit Games. ​
• 2017: Competed individually at the South Regional, securing 11th place. ​
• 2018 & 2019: As a member of Team Invictus Boston, Kelsey contributed to 9th and 12th place finishes at the CrossFit Games, respectively. ​
• 2020: Qualified individually for the CrossFit Games; however, due to the pandemic and changes in the season format, she was unable to compete.
• 2022 & 2023: Competed with CrossFit OBA, achieving 11th and 8th place finishes at the CrossFit Games, respectively. ​
• 2024: Participated in the Individual West Semifinal, finishing 10th and narrowly missing qualification for the CrossFit Games. ​

Bobsledding Pursuit

In 2020, following changes to the CrossFit season due to COVID-19, Kelsey explored bobsledding. Invited to the Olympic Training Center in Lake Placid, New York, she showcased her athletic adaptability. In January 2021, Kelsey secured a gold medal at the International Bobsleigh and Skeleton Federation North American Cup in Park City, Utah, highlighting her rapid progression in the sport. ​

Professional Roles

Beyond competition, Kelsey serves as the Director of Performance Nutrition at Black Iron Nutrition. She has coached over 2,000 athletes, emphasizing performance nutrition and holistic health. ​
