Kyra Milligan is a professional CrossFit athlete recognized for elite lower-body strength, competitive composure, and a steady rise through the sport’s most demanding stages. Based in Nashville, Tennessee, Kyra competes at the highest level of CrossFit while balancing a career in healthcare, embodying the discipline and work ethic that define modern elite athletes.
Kyra grew up competing in multiple sports, developing a broad athletic foundation long before discovering CrossFit.
She began gymnastics at a young age, training from roughly age five through her early teens. While she eventually stepped away from the sport, those years built coordination, body awareness, and competitive instincts that still show up in her racing style today.
In her later youth and high school years, Kyra shifted her focus to basketball, where she competed through high school and earned a college basketball scholarship offer at the community college level. Ultimately, she chose to prioritize her education and long-term career path rather than pursue collegiate basketball, a decision that later opened the door to CrossFit.
Kyra attended college in Salt Lake City, Utah, where she pursued and completed a degree in dental hygiene. She is a licensed dental hygienist, and for several years balanced school, work, and high-level training, an experience she credits for sharpening her time management and mental toughness.
Kyra’s transition into CrossFit quickly revealed her strengths: raw power, resilience under fatigue, and consistency across events. Training with CrossFit PRVN, she steadily climbed the competitive ranks.
Her breakout year came in 2024, when she qualified for the CrossFit Games and finished 22nd overall in the Women’s Individual division, ranking 22nd worldwide and 6th in the United States. The performance confirmed her place among the sport’s elite and marked a turning point in her competitive trajectory.
Known for standout strength, Kyra drew attention at the Rogue Invitational, where she recorded a 395-pound deadlift, cementing her reputation as one of the stronger athletes in the women’s field.
In 2025, she continued her momentum with strong semifinal performances, a 7th-place finish at the Syndicate Crown, and selection to the CrossFit Games Demo Team, highlighting both her competitive credibility and professionalism within the sport.
While her gymnastics background laid an early foundation, her competitive edge today comes from strength endurance and race execution rather than pure gymnastic specialization.
Outside of competition, Kyra is known for her grounded personality and balance between sport and career. She is a devoted dog owner and frequently shares training insights and behind-the-scenes moments with her growing fan base.
