I am a Health & PE teacher, strength and conditioning coach, and CF-L2 Coach from a small town in Pennsylvania. I have a sports background that spans cross country, high school rodeo, track and field, and rugby, where I developed a deep competitive foundation before finding CrossFit in 2017. Since 2020, I have competed at a high level in CrossFit. Now in my second season on the Grid, I hope to continue to elevate my game while inspiring the next generation of athletes in and out of the classroom. When I’m not training or working, I’m spending time with my dog and traveling!
As Nicole Hunt prepares for her rookie season in the Grid League, she brings an impressive mix of athletic achievement and coaching expertise. Her journey from college swimmer to CrossFit competitor shows a constant drive for athletic excellence and personal growth.
Hunt has built a remarkable career in CrossFit, reaching her peak ranking of 1360th worldwide in the women’s division in 2020. Her strength numbers speak volumes about her athletic capability, with a 370-pound back squat, 365-pound deadlift, and 205-pound clean and jerk. These achievements didn’t come overnight; Hunt’s CrossFit Open results show steady improvement from 2020 through 2025, where she consistently placed first at CrossFit Hampton Roads.
Beyond competing, Hunt has established herself as a respected coach in the CrossFit community. As a CFL3 certified trainer and member of the CrossFit Seminar Staff, she’s shared her knowledge across more than 10 affiliates in four different states. One of her most meaningful experiences came while coaching adaptive athletes in Boston, where she found joy in creating modified workouts that maintained their intended challenge while meeting each athlete’s needs.
Her foundation as a college swimmer gives her a unique edge as she enters the Grid League. The endurance, discipline, and body awareness developed during her swimming career complement her more recent strength achievements in CrossFit.
Life as a military spouse has shaped both Hunt’s career and character. Moving between duty stations opened doors to coach at various CrossFit boxes, expanding her expertise and teaching style. When she’s not in the gym, Hunt enjoys hitting local trails with her dog Tahoe or exploring new breweries with her husband John.
What sets Hunt apart is her rare combination of high-level athletic ability and deep coaching knowledge. She understands not just how to perform movements, but how to break them down and adapt them for different athletes. This insight, combined with her competitive drive, makes her an intriguing addition to the Grid League roster.
As Hunt steps into Grid League competition, she brings years of varied athletic experience and a proven ability to excel in new challenges. Her background in swimming and CrossFit provides a solid foundation for the diverse physical demands of Grid competition. Having helped countless athletes achieve their goals as a coach, Hunt now has the opportunity to showcase her own athletic talents on a new stage.
Hunt’s story is one of continuous growth and adaptation, whether facing new PRs or new duty stations. As she takes on this latest challenge in the Grid League, her combination of athletic achievement, coaching wisdom, and resilient spirit makes her an athlete worth watching.
