I am a 3x NCAA All-American in the Shot Put, the 2013 American Open Final Gold Medalist in the 105+kg for weightlifting, 2x Team USA Member for MAS Wrestling 2017-2018, Professional Highland Games Athlete, 2021 United States Strongman Heavyweight National Champion.
Owner of The Strength Agenda, USAW National Level Coach, USAW Level 1 Coaching Course Instructor.
When the Atlanta Wild captured the 2024 United Grid League championship, Thomas Sroka stood as a key piece of their success story. As the team’s Strength Specialist, he helped turn around what began as a difficult season, showcasing the unique combination of power and versatility that has defined his career across multiple strength sports.
Sroka’s path to becoming a Grid champion took an unexpected route. After competing in the Southern Amateur Grid League from 2015-2016 where he earned All-Star honors, he was drafted by the New York Rhinos but never played in the regular season. His return to Grid came in late 2023 when Atlanta Wild owner Dan Jackson spotted him training for Strongman on Instagram and brought him onto the team.
The 2024 season started roughly for the Wild with a decisive loss to the Aces, but Sroka’s experience and leadership helped right the ship. His specialty in odd objects and barbell movements proved crucial in the team’s championship run.
Standing 6 feet tall and weighing 285 pounds, Sroka has built an impressive athletic resume. He earned NCAA All-American honors three times in Shot Put during college before claiming gold at the 2013 USAW American Open Championship in the 105+kg category. His international career includes representing Team USA in MAS Wrestling, where he placed 6th at the 2017 World Cup and 4th at the 2018 World Championships.
Since 2017, Sroka has competed as a professional Highland Games athlete while also excelling in Strongman competitions. In 2021, he won the United States Strongman Overall Heavyweight National Championship and took 5th at the Strongman Corporation Nationals. His strength numbers tell the story: 840-pound deadlift, 440-pound push press, 650-pound squat, 462-pound clean, 484-pound jerk, and 345-pound snatch.
Sroka’s journey began in college track and field. After a brief attempt at football, he found his calling in weightlifting. A move to California in 2012 to train at Cal Strength under Glenn Pendlay opened new doors, leading him to explore CrossFit and eventually multiple strength disciplines.
Based in Raleigh, North Carolina, Sroka has built The Strength Agenda into a respected training program. As a USAW National Level Coach and Level 1 Coaching Course Instructor, he offers specialized programming combining Olympic weightlifting, powerlifting, and hypertrophy training. His coaching background includes work with CrossFit gyms, The Outlaw Way program, and Muscle Driver USA.
Looking ahead to 2025, Sroka aims to defend the Wild’s championship while continuing his Highland Games career and growing his training facility. His ability to excel across different strength sports while building a successful coaching business has made him a respected figure in the strength community. Through regular podcast appearances and social media engagement, he continues to share his knowledge and experience with the next generation of strength athletes.
