The 8th team of the FGL Season hails from Pompano Beach, Florida and has been awarded to ProFit Rx, the creators of the app ProFit. Their team, the Pompano Pulse, will join the Southern Conference along with the Miami Freaks, Fort Lauderdale Lions, and Palm Beach Elite and will compete in a regular Season, Playoffs, and Championship for a $20k Grand Prize. Learn more about the FGL Season here.
ProFit is an app where athletes can challenge their friends, family, and colleagues in private, custom online competitions OR compete against many others in public competitions (Competition of the Week or COW) where each entrant pays a small fee in hopes of winning the pot. Philosophically the app is designed to provide more options for people to compete and have fun with their fitness while staying connected with their fitness community, whether that be near or far.
ProFit sees the Florida Grid League as fitting well with their overall mission and ultimately as an opportunity for each organization to mutually benefit from an involved partnership. They will also be providing their platform for all teams in the League to hold optional, online versions of their combine. Details on that to follow.
The management of the Pompano based team will consist of ProFit founder and CEO, Matt Morgan, along with ProFit founders and south Florida fitness community staples Rich Worcester and Rachel Lim.
Matt says of the opportunity
“I totally believe in the sport of GRID and see the direction of where it is going. I’m super excited to partner up with the League and be a part of the competition.”
Rich and Rachel are gym owners of the prominent gym “CrossFit Lighthouse Point” and recently acquired “CrossFit Militia“. Both active competitors in the Florida fitness community; they competed in GRID 6 Miami, the second GRID 6 ever, and have been looking to be involved with the FGL since.
Much more to come about the new team including combine dates, and branding coming very soon.
