Grid League 2026 – Venom vs Flight: Las Vegas Wins 24-10 and Clinches Its First Playoff Berth

The Las Vegas Venom had to win to reach the playoffs, and they did, beating the Carolina Flight 24-10 at the Mesquite Convention Center in Mesquite, Texas to clinch the first postseason appearance in franchise history.

Las Vegas took the Ladder 54-46, and Tyler Anderson closed the match on the fan-voted 80-foot sandbag carry, 200 pounds for the men and 150 for the women. The Venom had listed Jayson DiMizio for that race and switched to Anderson at the last minute, which the fan-voted Ringer Point allows.

Carolina raced short again, missing key players for a second straight day, and still produced two of the best individual moments of the match. Aiden Whitehead flew through the rings in the Jack and Jill, and Jordyn Hankins beat DiMizio on the burpee to ring touch after Carolina threw their bonus flag on it, turning a two-point race into three.

The match ran Hang Loose, the fourth and last of the season’s match formats. Las Vegas finished the regular season 3-1 and seeded second in the West on Season Rank Total. The Venom play the Southwest Florida Sharks in the conference semifinal at the championship on October 3 and 4 in Lakeland.
