Grid League 2026 – Venom vs Wolves: A Bonus Flag Backfires in a 17-20 Home Loss

The Las Vegas Venom lost 17-20 at home to the New York Wolves at American Dream in New Jersey.

The match turned on a flag Las Vegas threw. The Venom put their bonus flag on the med-ball handstand walk to add a point to the race, backing CrossFit Games athlete Alec Smith. Wolves rookie Christa Devine beat him. The extra point goes to whoever wins the race, so the flag was worth three to New York.

Las Vegas did take the fan-voted Ringer Point, though it took three runnings to get there. Two reviews found the same fault both times, and the Venom won the third on a photo finish.

Las Vegas finished the regular season 3-1 and seeded second in the West on Season Rank Total. The Venom play a conference semifinal at the championship on October 3 and 4 in Lakeland.
