Grid League 2026 – Wolves vs Venom: New York Closes the Weekend 2-0, 20-17

The New York Wolves beat the Las Vegas Venom 20-17 at American Dream in New Jersey to close the weekend 2-0 and move into the second seed in the East.

The biggest swing came on a flag Las Vegas threw. The Venom put their bonus flag on the med-ball handstand walk to add a point to the race, then watched Wolves rookie Christa Devine beat CrossFit Games athlete Alec Smith. The extra point goes to whoever wins the race, so New York took three off a flag Las Vegas had thrown.

Later the match turned on a fan-voted Ringer Point race that had to be run three times. Two reviews found the same fault both times. Las Vegas took the third running on a photo finish.

New York finished the regular season 3-1 with the most match wins in the East. The Wolves take the top seed and a first-round bye at the championship on October 3 and 4 in Lakeland.
