Both the Gainesville Wild and the Palm Beach Breakers are teams that recently re-branded from former team names. The Gainesville Wild re-located from Jacksonville where they were then branded the Jacksonville Steel. The Palm Beach Breakers was a result of a team merger between the Palm Beach Elite and the Pompano Pulse. Both teams first competed in the As 1 Tournament in December of 2020.
The Wild had completely revamped their roster prior to the Tournament with most players coming from Texas. They performed well with fresh talent and made it all the way to the Championship where they fell just short of beating the Fort Lauderdale Lions.
The Breakers retained many core players from both previous teams, and had 2 very close and well-fought matches but ended up 0-2 at the end of the Tournament.
