About Grid

This sport was designed to entertain you

Started in 20171.6 million followersNearly 2 million livestream views

Current team sports were originally designed (a long time ago) to be fun to play and without any thought toward the spectator. Grid League is the first team sport specifically intended to be fun to watch in the modern era.

It is the ultimate race based game requiring intense teamwork, high skill athleticism, and in-depth strategy. It is easy to follow, extremely exciting, and fits with the modern attention span.

Most importantly – it is the world’s first, spectator team sport featuring men and women competing alongside and against one another. This leads to unique, compelling, and dramatic story lines like you have never seen before.

History

The Sport

The sport of GRID (often referred to as Grid League) was invented by Tony Budding in 2013. It has endured some failure through different business models and many different Leagues including the NPGL initially. It has found sustainable footing in the current version represented by the United Grid League at the highest level.

The United Grid League

The United Grid League started very small as the Florida Grid League in 2017. It has steadily grown year over year and went from 0 to 1.6 million followers across platforms. It has amassed nearly 2 million livestream views in 4 years and gained over 300 thousand views on its most recent Championship match. In 2024 the name changed to represent the National growth of the sport. The League featured 5 teams outside of Florida in 2026, and the Dallas Deputies join in 2027.
