Originally from North Carolina, Dana’s athletic journey began with basketball, where she pursued a Division I scholarship at Appalachian State University. After experiencing burnout, she transitioned to bodybuilding before discovering CrossFit in December 2015. Her initial skepticism about the sport quickly turned into passion, leading her to fully embrace CrossFit.
In 2017, Dana suffered a severe injury from a fall during training, resulting in multiple plates in her left foot and limited mobility. Despite these challenges, she continued to compete, initially as an adaptive athlete. However, she later returned to standard competition, demonstrating remarkable determination and resilience.
In 2024, Dana qualified for the prestigious Rogue Invitational in Aberdeen, Scotland, after placing sixth in the online qualifier. This accomplishment was particularly significant as she managed it while adapting to a recent asthma diagnosis.
