Match format – Washington.

Week 2 in the Southern Conference featured the return of an important couple to the Pompano Pulse, and the FGL in Rich and Rachel Worcester. They took on a HUNGRY Fort Lauderdale Lions team looking to make a statement.

The Lions did just that taking control early and executing nearly flawlessly through the entire match. Luke Whitworth didn’t get much GRID time last year but stepped up huge in this match. The Pulse showed flashes of brilliance including some beautiful double and triple touches but were unable to overcome the well rounded Lions roster.

The second match started off as an intense back and forth battle between the Palm Beach Elite and the Miami Freaks. For the Elite, Texas resident Sophia Davenport was all over the GRID taking on a huge portion of the work. For the Freaks, rookie and CrossFit Games athlete Fernanda Saavedra performed very well despite battling a recent back injury.

The Elite demonstrated incredible speed on gymnastics and lighter barbell work, but were unable to overcome the Freaks’ advantage in raw strength and the Freaks pulled away in the second half of the match.

We’ve reached the halfway mark in the regular Season. Don’t miss the GRID action left this year. Grab your early bird tickets at https://thefgl.com/old/tickets now.
