The biggest rivalry in the North is the Sharks vs the Brigade.

The Sharks have never won against the Brigade but came within literal seconds of beating them the last time them met.

The Brigade had been dominate over the Northern Conference for the first three years of the League but slipped behind the Aces and the Wild in the As 1 Tournament in December.

In the Season Opener match the Sharks were missing some key players, and suffered a big loss to the reigning champs, the Fort Lauderdale Lions. They will be looking to bounce back by relying on longtime returning players Rachel Meola, Fransisco Gomez and Quentin Ambrioso to anchor the team. Promising rookies Jenna Riddle and Valerie Gunning will be looking to make big impact.

The Brigade want to get back to the conference dominance they became accustomed to. They are starting veteran players Jess Krezmien, bodyweight specialist Abby Wilkins and strength specialists Ricky Morgan and Noel Leka (who missed the Season Opener because he was competing in Olympic weightlifting Nationals) along with some rookies coming off strong performances in the opener in Sydney Witter, Kyrsten Brockmann, and Marissa Oxenford.
